Actually their bootloader is eating 100% cpu during all time,
probably in a loop waiting for keyboard events. And it is
graphical too, and graphics mode gets turned on right after
"Loading stage 2" message. So I've a question: does your
environment provide graphics support for kvm?
I guess yes, I have a Debian installed which is running X perfectly.

Ok.

Also, try hitting "enter" - it should go load kernel, at which
point cpu usage drops to near 0 - if it does, we'll know it's
just display issue. And another possible try: run it with
-vga std option.
Hitting "enter" does nothing, but "-vga std" resolves the problem : I
can now see the graphical installer.

The bootloader in guest initializes for several seconds before
it responds to keyboard events. So maybe you weren't waited
enough before hitting enter? :)

Well, I didn't think it was this simple ... I installed several linux
distributions without problem before Frugalware.

Anyway, thank you for your help, and sorry to have opened a bug for
nothing.

Actually it is not exactly "nothing". Because now I wonder why
it works for me and does not work for you, or what is so specific
in frugalware that it does not work while other distros works.
It's a bug somewhere, that's for sure. Unfortunately since I can't
reproduce the problem I can't debug it either, at least not here...

At any rate, the bug is useful as a sort-of documentation for the
problem.
