Well it was you who said that the chroots were broken, they should be
able to fix that. So you did test executing the binaries?

By executing the resulting binaries? Installing is only a matter of
moving files to particular places in the file system and executing
maintainer scripts, none of which is absolutely needed to test the
package on a particular architecture other than the one you have root
access to AFAICT.
