What do you mean by 'misbehaving' ? ftp.au.debian.org is running the last version of the recommended script, is up to date, and rsync accessible. Same for mirrors.kernel.org If you observed something wrong, please notice us so that we can forward this to ftp.au admins. ftp.au is the recommended upstream for you.
