Package: installation-reports Severity: normal Hi all,
I tested if I can get the new WPA feature working here and this is to report success! Wow! I went until the installation step "Configure the clock via NTP", and since that was successful, I aborted the installation at that point. Some details Used hardware (from lspci -vvv): 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02) Subsystem: Intel Corporation ThinkPad R60e/X60s Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx- Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 64 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 32 Region 0: Memory at edf00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: iwl3945 Used wlan driver: iwl3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection driver for Linux Used wlan encryption: WPA2-PSK Used network configuration method: DHCP for the wlan interface Output of dmesg and the syslog file from the installation system is attached. One small comment: When it comes to the question, which encryption is used for wlan, I am given the choices "WEP/Open" and "WPA PSK". While the second supports WPA2 two, shouldn't this also be shown in the question? (so change the second entry to something like "WPA/WPA2 PSK"). Just a thought...
