Christian Kastner found no trace at all of usb_modeswitch running during boot.
Anyway, I'm already working on a modification of the binary program to
enable reading a config file content from "stdin". Once this works, it will
eliminate the need for writing *anything* to the filesystem.
Stand by for version 1.2.0 ...
