But in my eyes it's not the job of cryptsetup to make sure that the keyboard works in initramfs. To me this is a bug in initramfs-tools, which should include usb modules for MODULES=dep itself, as a working keyboard is required for the initramfs emergency shell even without disk encryption. Thus I'm reassigning the bug to initramfs-tools.
