Interesting. I've just tested that a PS file hacked in this way still looks OK in GV and when printed via "regular" lpr. The patch to change this PostScript output from PAW is pretty trivial, it's a two-line diff in src/graflib/higz/ipost/ipdef.F. I'll first wait to see what Ian has to say though. By the way, what is your printer model? Is there any way you could test the original (bad) PS file using CUPS with a different kind of printer? It's conceivable that the printer is ignoring Begin(Page)Setup ... End(Page)Setup sections rather than CUPS ignoring them. regards, -- Kevin B.
