I am not an administrator of the debian-science projet on alioth, so you should ask by yourself on the debian-science mailinglist. I would like to have also the Yaroslav opinion about the previous proposition. so without answer of the current maintainer within two weeks, I think that it could be possible to upload a new version of pytables with both of you as co-uploader of pytables. I you both agreed on the packaging on debian-science git repository. It would be nice.
