I had this same problem this evening trying to turn on dnssev validation in bind9 9.7.3.dfsg-1~squeeze4.
I had previously touched the managed-keys.bind file in the working directory (/var/cache/bind for me) to stop a warning message on load. Since this file was empty and had no associated managed-keys.bind.jnl, turning on automatic lookaside, or even simply including the root initial-key caused this segfault. As soon as I removed the empty file managed-keys.bind, and restarted with the bind.keys file included, bind9 started just fine, and is correctly validating dnssec entries. However, there is definitely still a bug because a missing managed-keys.bind.jnl or an empty managed-keys.bind file should not cause a segfault. Ben -- Ben Love http://www.kylimar.com/
