You're the first who complained about this new feature since 1.0,
and there are lots of users already.

Unless the only possible user of this feature (ie, you :) writes
the patch, I don't think anyone will be interested to anyone.
You can ask this question there - you're in a better position
to argue your own usage case than me who thinks that current
behavour is fine.
