Hi, I'm not sure if this bug is really totally fixed now, although I'm seeing it in reverse...
During an upgrade today of an unstable box that had not been updated in a while, I got the following situation: Preparing to replace vim 1:6.4-007+1 (using .../vim_1%3a7.0-017+5_sparc.deb) ... Unpacking replacement vim ... Preparing to replace vim-common 1:6.4-007+1 (using .../vim-common_1%3a7.0-017+5_sparc.deb) ... [...] Errors were encountered while processing: vim Press return to continue. This left vim in a broken state. Running aptitude again did solve the problem: Unpacking vim-common (from .../vim-common_1%3a7.0-017+5_sparc.deb) ... Setting up vim-common (7.0-017+5) ... Installing new version of config file /etc/vim/vimrc ... Setting up vim (7.0-017+5) ... rmdir: /usr/share/doc/vim: Directory not empty Press return to continue. All in all not a very clean upgrade. Cheers, FJP P.S. Note that this bug is closed. I'll leave it to you if you want to reopen based on this report.
