When I tried to boot up this machine about 1h ago it would not come up properly - ssh or VLC logins would fail. Upon closer inspection it hung after the "nmbd" part of the samba initscript output. It's reproducible, not a timeout (I waited at least 10min) and not network related (that comes up fine and pings work). Booting in single user mode bypasses the problem of course but some poeple with headless machines might be in trouble if they're away from them. I run a very current testing an this box, the last reboot (that worked) was about 2 days ago. Doing /etc/init.d/samba/start from the commandline (in single user) has the same result, strace attached.
