Hi!

While rebuilding the python related packages against the Python 3.15rc1
version we found that nordugrid-arc fails to build from source [1].

This is caused by credentials being generated and used concurrently,
which causes a race between the tests.

To fix this (and other related issues), I needed to:
- Patch to generate the credentials before launching the tests
- Patch upstream code to avoid mangling the debian folder
- Set the import name for the smoke autopkgtest test

I applied these fixes in the sandbox [2] to be able to build the
packages that depend on nordugrid-arc, please consider applying them to
support the upcoming 3.15 version.

Happy hacking,

Control: notfound 1146597 nordugrid-arc/7.1.2-4

The issues reported here are not related to python 3.15.

The issues reported here are not reproducible.

The makefile rule to replace the debian/changelog file is only
triggered if "make dist" is run or if "make changelog" is run in the
debian directory. Neither command is run by dpkg-buildpackage as part
of a package build. The presence of the rule therefore does not
interfere with the package build.

The configure.ac file uses AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE( ... serial-tests ). I.e.
the tests are always run in serial. There is no need to make sure the
tests can be run in parallel, since this never happens.

I successfully built the package against python 3.15 without any
changes other than replacing the build dependency python3-dev with
python3.15-dev and the configure option --with-python=python3 with
--with-python=python3.15, so no changes are needed to support python
3.15.
