Would you take a look at /usr/bin, then? I have 912 items there. Nowadays I do a 'ls -lrt /usr/doc' when I have updated many packages. Then I can easily go to another console and look at the changelogs in the latest changed directories. No need for remembering which packages I updated, the list is on screen.
