I start "daemon" with start-stop-daemon with this command start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --chuid tango:tango --background \ --make-pidfile --pidfile $PIDFILE --exec $DAEMON -- $DAEMON_ARGS \ || return 2 So it is hardcoded in the package not by the mainstream author.
