You skipped over the bit explaining:
- where the vendor lock in is?
  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vendor_lock-in
  and e.g. "Microsoft software carries a high level of vendor lock-in,
  based on its extensive set of proprietary APIs" and how this relates
  to your list
- how systemd is driving this possibility (aka the "forcing") vs
  developers just making their lives easier
