Thanks! That's a really good question, and one that we should also include on the GR. I'd split my option 5 into two: 5. Include non-free firmware but do not enable it by default 6. Include non-free firmware and enable it by default In either case, we'd make the opposite choice available via a d-i kernel command line option and a boot menu option.
