True, it is possible to subdivide "firmware" into multiple buckets in
various ways, one of them being whether it was delivered preinstalled
or separately from the hardware it is intended to control.

If you read the email thread, I think you will notice that several
posts have already indicated that this distinction is not new or
surprising.  It is great that you are now also aware that such
distinction might be relevant to make in some cases, including yours.

The interesting issue then becomes how to clearly express when talking
about only a subset of firmware, not all firmware.

If I really didn't mean that *only* danes are great, then I should not
label a danish-targeted Pure Blend as "Debian for great people".  The
burden is on me to pick a label that is distinct.

Similarly, when you mean to label a Pure Blend as targeted uses
liberated from firmware-circulated-independently-from-target-hardware,
then it is on you to ensure that you are not mislabeling and making the
wrong impression that you are covering the wider set of all firmware.

It is not acceptable to just pick the term "libre" and assume that
Debian users know and agree with FSF exceptional terminology for
"libre" and "firmware".
