Hi Ian, hi list, today, I tried to package the recently released and long awaited xmonad-0.5 release. Unfortunately, xmonad needs the new Cabal version. Because we currently ship cabal with ghc (and not as a package on it’s own), I tried to package it for the ghc package you put on haskell-unsafe.
So I compiled it for i386 (.deb can be provided if someone wants it), and then upgraded X11 and mtl to new versions. I had to modify the haskell-utils generated files to the new path of /usr/lib/ghc-6.8.1/gen_contents_index I tried to fix that directly in haskell-utils, but that requires some libs that are now shipped in ghc6 extralibs, which is not packaged by you, so I stopped working in that direction. I’ll try now to make xmonad work with a manual installation of the scripts from haskell-utils, but it would be great so see working ghc6.8 and X11-1.4 package somewhere soon.
