FYI: This is already happening just because of this. At the moment I'm busy
specifying how this should look like with other people who think that
Debian doesn't meet the needs of the GNU system.

Nobody who is actually a Debian developer is working on it at the
moment. We don't really want to compete with Debian but it's just that
we don't see a way of accomplishing our personal goals with Debian.
