Non so se sia applicabile agli XTerm (credo si tratti più di PC con tastiere/mouse/schede grafiche/monitor multipli) ma usando systemd per fare multi-seat è possibile assegnare l'USB in maniera esclusiva ad una postazione. Non è proprio la prenotazione che si auspica Gian Uberto Lauri ma ci andiamo abbastanza vicino.
