Most likely the deb you want is: libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1
I've found something else that WFM...
cd /usr/lib
ln -sf libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2
This is WRONG, but WFM, note if you did this make sure you change the
first libstdc++ to whichever you have under stable.
