I've reverted to tmpfs for /tmp. I haven't seen any problem yet,
but my laptop isn't currently under "normal" conditions. I may
have more information in a few days, or more likely at the end
of the month. If the problem doesn't reappear, I'll revert to
the Linux kernel 3.2.15.

Something else that has changed on 2012-06-19: I've upgraded
to Subversion 1.7.x, which means fewer disk accesses. But the
problem seemed to be unrelated to the use of Subversion.
