This law demands age verification at the OS level—requiring all operating system providers to collect user age data and broadcast it via real-time API. Debian is decentralized, has no user accounts, no telemetry, no profit motive; compliance is not just impractical, it’s impossible without betraying the principles we love. Mandating age checks introduces surveillance infrastructure into the OS itself. Forcing Debian to implement this would mean building infrastructure for control, not freedom. Debian has always stood for software sovereignty.
