If stcolortool package has Depends: stcolortool-lprng. (or the other way
around, maybe I misunderstood you)

Erm, it's like that in /usr/doc/debhelper/examples/rules.multi2. I don't see
any changes.

You should file a bug against lintian, because this says it's an _internal_
error.
