Next to what Andrey and Santiago have said: Ideally the upstream Makefile would not behave like this, and files shipped by upstream would not be removed by "make clean". An upstream bugreport would be nice. (Traditionally, only "make distclean" or "make maintainer-clean" would remove files like that.) Bye, Joost
