Postponing to 7 (or any other reason to go through NEW) is fine.

Since you already have a gengal wrapper script, you could check for libreoffice-core being installed and error out with "please install libreoffice-core instead of libreoffice-core-nogui to use this tool" instead of failing with a weird missing symbol.
