Sounds good. Since this is the point, I'd expressly say that
in the license, something like:

 * Logo may be used on "Official" CD-ROMs/jewel cases/other media
provided the 'main' (not 'contrib', 'non-free', or 'non-US')
distribution of Debian is a significant and discrete part
of what the logo is used on.

Does this make any sense?

Joseph> It could be used elsewhere, just like not on the CD/jewel

Joseph> Debian (main, mail+contrib, source for main and or
Joseph> contrib) are currently considered "Debian" so CDs which
Joseph> only have those things on them should be logo-able. If
Joseph> Debian is included in that form and there's a box or
Joseph> something, the box could have the logo, just as long as

What about a 6-CD set that contained hamm/main as one of the CDs?
Could they put the Debian logo on the outside CD jewel case?
(I'd say yes.) And to be anal, we shouldn't specify CD above;
DVDs may become common soon enough, so I've added 'other media'
above.

Joseph> * Logo may be used on a web page for commercial

Ben> Can it be used in a print advertisement? IMHO, the 'on a web
Ben> page' is unnecessary and forbids television, print, and other
Ben> media. I'd say remove it.

Joseph> Okay, "Logo may be used for commercial advertising
    Joseph> purposes provided that"..

Good.

Joseph> Hey, I didn't do TOO bad for about 3 minutes typing while

Sometimes it's best to get a fresh start. :)

Please make a new clean version of the license and put it up
on the Web somewhere.
