Vulnerable, how? Microsoft put quite some effort into trying to stamp out free software, and that was Microsoft in its prime -- and they failed. If MS are Lions, and Apple are leopards, then I'd say Free Software is Fungus -- capable of taking their excrement and turning it into something useful, while otherwise growing at it's own pace, largely indifferent to the activities of the live-fast die-young corporations. Admittedly, Microsoft are now trying to use the patent system as fungicide, but I think the wider population are waking up to just how toxic that stuff is for everyone, especially when misused.
