Package: sddm
Version: 0.21.0+git20250502.4fe234b-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

At bootup, sddm often lacks any button to suspend, reboot, or shutdown
the machine. It came to be, after some research, that sddm requires
elogind (or similar systemd facilities) to be ready to be fully
functionnal. Though, on my machine, both sddm and elogind depends on
dbus, which means that both software will be started at the same time.

More on this issue can be found on other distros:

I attached a patch to identify sddm as a display manager, so it be
started after services that declare X-Start-Before (as elogind does). I
have no idea how to do the same for systemd, you'll have to figure that
on your own. Maybe the link above can enlighten you?

I have setup sddm as a x-display-manager through insserv on my machine,
and it does run properly after elogind.

Thanks
