And as I think I already mentionned several times, if we ship binaries
for a GPL'd, which cannot be rebuilt from the sources we ship, then
we're in violation of the GPL, since the binary obviously don't match
the sources.
Specifically, it says:
| For an executable work, complete source code means all the source code
| for all modules it contains, plus any associated interface definition
| files, plus the scripts used to control compilation and installation
| of the executable.
And the "special exception" for modules that are part of the OS
probably does not apply, since this package is itself part the OS.
What's debian-legal stance about this ?
