I've just realized that I forgot to write why we hope to get rid of the patch. :-) The plan is to enable GO111MODULE=on for Debian package builds, so using the version from go.mod. This is overdue since a few years already, but so far nobody found the time/energy to tackle this. Regards, Tobias
