Some proposal: I have added a "---DRAFT---" string to the document title and all toplevel headlines of the document, which can be dynamically enabled or disabled via some lines in conf.py. The result can be seen at https://people.debian.org/~holgerw/release-notes-with-rudimental-draftmode/ I created a merge request for this [1]. I know that only rudimental, but maybe it's better than nothing, until we have a better solution???
