Looks good now. I haven't done a thorough otherwise but I noticed that you are wrapping around the description in debian/control. The first line (after Description:) should be the short description, it's what you see e.g. when running dpkg -l gpaw-data. The general recommendation would be to have the same short description as for GPAW, but with "(data files)" or "(PAW setups)" or something at the end.
