Haz un dpkg-reconfigure y elige "es_ES ISO-8859-1", a continuacion establece
como locale predeterminado "C". Finalmente puedes hacer un 'castellanizar' para
los mensajes de distintas aplicaciones y las páginas man.
En teoría ya tienes casi todo en castellano y ese mensaje de warning debería
desaparecer.
