Perhaps strace the apt-get process...see if it's generating any errors (I know strace is rather difficult to decipher...but a handy dash of grep and/or vi will help to sort through it all)...that's about my only recommendation.Hi, I've been running Debian for about a year or two now.
I've had no real problems I've not been able to sort out with using google or the debian documentation.
However, I appear to have a puzzling problem that I can't think where best to look for answers.
Doing 'apt-get update;apt-get -u dist-upgrade' doesn't produce any updates to packages needed.
However, I installed Knoppix onto another pc and I've just upgraded this to a Debian Unstable system. Having updated it, I notice some of the packages are more recent than on the pc with the apparant problem.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Where might I look to see if something is preventing a proper upgrade calculation being perfomed or something similar?
Thanks,
Kelly
