Hi, I've been running Debian for about a year or two now.
I've had no real problems I've not been able to sort out with using google or the debian documentation.
However, I appear to have a puzzling problem that I can't think where best to look for answers.
Doing 'apt-get update;apt-get -u dist-upgrade' doesn't produce any updates to packages needed.
Perhaps strace the apt-get process...
And check /etc/apt/preferences for the "Pin-Priority" of the distributions. I had the same problem for months. About two weeks ago, and a certain Martin J. Hillyer suggested this.
Thank you, Mr. Hillyer.
changing the 'pin-priority' from 99 to 101 seems to have sorted it, now have 400 or so MB of updates to download...
