I'm new user too, and I'll try to help you.
You might have seen the floppy directory under root (/)
All you need to do is mount the device:
I can't remember the exact syntax but is something like this:
mount /dev/fd0 /floppy

You can mount cdrom or another partitions doing the same thing.
