It allows you to choose an X session at login (kde, window maker, afterstep, etc), by providing a combo box that lets you choose the parameter that gets passed to the Xsession script. By modifying your script a little, you can do some fun stuff. Otherwise, there's not really much point in using kdm versus xdm, unless for some reason you really think xdm is horribly ugly and the worst piece of software ever written... noah PGP public key available at http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/home/httpd/n/nmeyerha/mail.html or by 'finger -l [EMAIL PROTECTED]' -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCUAwUBNhzPw4dCcpBjGWoFAQHLbgP4sBfqoYwWwndtwdfXS9RUA5UXXmoHVDTe JHrY1ODxLIeMqJHTyfuqt8IRb9RrP1n8567FcI86AihYVNhY+JN3ZR02SFkGbOjY o/9ftROvmuRSTQRGRLHp9DgDzsm2qID9QKYCpZgYO0a91XX9XMB/1It1UsLaVDUy aox4eiWdww== =HqBf -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
