A Linux machine's IP address is set by ifconfig. This usually happens while it is going multi-user. There is no provision for a machine to change its IP address if it finds a clash - there ought not to be a clash! -- Oliver Elphick [EMAIL PROTECTED] Isle of Wight http://www.lfix.co.uk/oliver PGP key from public servers; key ID 32B8FAA1 ======================================== "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility."
