I'm trying to make sense of this thread, but I guess I'm too dense: exactly when would this boot logo show up? 1) post LILO but pre kernel load? 2) post kernel load but pre init? 3) Is it used as a background picture for xdm or gdm? FWIW, I've never seen any logo during boot up, neither tux or otherwise, so I just don't get this.
