soundblaster sb 16

hi guys
i have a soundblaster isa pnp sb 16
i tried some things discussed in the mailinglist, but some things like
pnpdump (how to get it into a file, for example isapnp)
didnt really work.
i dont know what to do really, my brother has a sb 128 pci and it works
fine, but buying new cant be the cure,...
if you could help me, i would be happy.
