If you don't have the "mount point" (or, to paraphrase, "point at
which the drive is mounted") you can't mount it there.  Think of it
like trying to bolt a new alternator into your car.  If there is no
frame there with holes to put the bolt through, how will you do this?
The car manufacturer must first provide a "mount point" on which to
mount your alternator.

I hope this analogy makes sense.
