In general that's fine... The point of the list feature is that, if used, I could direct either one back to the list w/o any cc's. With duplicates being automatically filtered, who know which will come through first? Then there are follow up threads... If it has debian-user (or whatever list), it gets filtered into the appropriate mailbox, and I usually want to only reply back to the list.
