I just wanted to point out.. I'm on Telus ADSL and I have to use DHCP as well. In order to do a Network Install, you have to install the Drivers from Floppy first during the initial install, then the Debian Install will run the drivers for your ethernet card, and you can connect that way. It will also run DHCP to get an IP Address. If this is done using the same Ethernet Card that was already connected to the Internet, then there shouldn't be a problem. For me, I was using a different Ethernet Card, different MAC address, and as such, I wasn't able to obtain an IP Address. So what I did to overcome this, at least long enough to install Debian, was I checked the current IP Address on my Windows machine, then "borrowed" that IP address and gave it to the Linux machine. It's technically "IP Stealing", but since it was my IP to begin with, I figured it'd be okay. I was able to complete the install, then register my new NIC's MAC address with my ISP. I can have two IP addresses with them at no extra cost, thus 2 MAC addresses registered. -- - Alan Poulton ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) - >From the Phrases You'd Like To Say At Work file: Who me?
