No.
There were viruses in Windows at a time when there were less windows
users than there are linux users today and when most M$-users (at that
time including myself) were still running Dos.
Despite the large propaganda of a certain company to support your claim,
it just fails to explain why such a bunch of "hobbyists" can produce
such a secure OS!
