Was this meant to be aimed at the list? Anyway, changing fonts is not something you often need to do, and in .038 i had an issue with the fonts and one of my favourite themes, it was simple change to allow the theme to change, and since restarting E doesn't close anything that you're working on (excepting E dialog boxes) the "i have to restart" argument hardly applies. this is one of it's major strengths anyway, if E segfaults (hey, it is still alpha) you just start E again and carry on, nothing lost. Also e supports desktop icons, just enable it in the relevant dialog (maybe in appearance, i forget) then create a .desktop in ~/Desktop , there's also a wizard somewhere.. i forget, i'm not really a fan of desktop icons, i only use them when i'm too lazy to mount media manually.
