On Etch do the following:

open a console and log in as root and type:

        echo "deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main
        contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list

        gpg --keyserver hkp://subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys 16BA136C
        gpg --export | apt-key add -

        aptitude update
        aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree
