I've been seeing problems for the past several weeks and I am finally
beginning to see a pattern. It started about the time I upgraded to a
GeForce4MX after my GeForce2 died. At first I thought it was being caused
by Gnome apps, because it was happening with greater frequency with Galeon
and Evolution (about the only Gnome apps I use).

Well, today I got home from work and found the machine at an xdm login,
and /var/log/xdm.log showed:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".

Its a 1GHz Athlon-C with 768MB RAM and the GeForce4MX card. The box is
running sid with the following packages:

kernel-image 2.4.21
nvidia-kernel 1.0.4496-2
nvidia-glx 1.0.4496-2.1
nvidia-glx-dev 1.0.4496-2.1
xfree86-common 4.2.1-11
xserver-free86 4.2.1-11

Is a sig11 still usually hardware? Any other suggestions on fixes?

Thanks,
