Depending on the box I have two approaches on dealing with Recommends: 1. low disk space Turn Recommends off, but beware of missing functionality 2. sufficient disk space Leave Recommends on, but inspect the list of packages to be installed, especially when the number of additional packages is more then say 5-10 to 1.
